Gujarat, the birthplace of Reliance, has become the first state in India to receive Jio TRU. From today 25 November, i.e. 5G has started in all 33 districts of Gujarat. With this ‘Jio Welcome Offer’, users will get unlimited 5G data with 1Gbps+ speed. Jio will launch a true 5G-powered series in the healthcare, agriculture, Industry 4.0 and IoT sectors.
Gujarat became the first state of the country to have 5G
Gujarat holds a special place for Reliance. As announced by Reliance, this 5G speed is dedicated to Gujarat and its people. Now 100% of the 33 district headquarters of the state will have Jio True 5G coverage. With this technology, lakhs of students across the country will be able to get quality education through digital means.
5G technology will help the Prime Minister’s vision
Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited said, ‘We are proud to inform you that Gujarat is now the first state to have 100% of its district headquarters connected to our robust True 5G network. We want to show the real power of this technology and how it can impact the lives of a billion people.’

Along with this will not only give every Indian a better standard of living, but our Prime Minister’s vision is that by 2047, India’s economy will grow exponentially. Jio is also launching to use 5G technology to further improve and advance the level of sports and education, under the Reliance Foundation’s main objective ‘Education for All’ to make this technology available to every citizen, every household, so that Doing so will improve India’s productivity, earnings and living standards.’

However, Jio has asked to provide 1Gbps speed on 5G network in India. If Jio gives such a speed, a 1GB movie will be downloaded in 1 second.
If we have 4G in our country, how much speed do we get?
- The speed of 4G is said to be up to 1GBPS, but the speed is very low in our country. Open Signal has given the 4G speed figures in the country till September. Airtel had the highest download speed on 4G in the country in September. The download speed on Airtel’s network was 10.4MBPS, while on Jio it was 6.9MBPS.
- Voda-Idea (VI) topped uploading. Its speed was 3.5MBPS. Airtel had 2.8MBPS and Jio had 2.3MBPS. This means that even though the availability of 4G in the country is very high, the speed is very low.
