Sovereign Gold Bonds can be purchased from the following locations:

  • Small Finance Bank and Payment Bank,
  • Stock Holding Corporation of India (SHCIL),
  • Designated Post Office (India Post),
  • Can be bought from recognized stock exchanges, National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE).

Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme – Maturity Period

Sovereign Gold Bonds have a maturity period of 8 years. But after five years you can opt out of this plan after the next interest payment date. In Sovereign Gold Bonds, the investor is required to invest at least one gram of gold. If necessary, the investor can also take a loan against the sovereign gold bond, but the gold bond will have to be pledged.
